UK HIP-HOP
I used to be obsessed with it from the age of 15-18.I was recently looking back at my nerdish extensive collection that i never listen too anymore and have subsequently lost touch as the uk scene seems dead and if not dead being killed by awful artists. top 5 albums:
1. Lewis Parker: Masquerades and sillehoutes
2. Braintax: Biro Funk
3. Skitz: Country Man
4. Roots Manuva : Brand new Second Hand
5. Taskforce : New Mic order

Carnival 2008
Pretty much the best party in London. Nothing quite like paying £10 for some battery jerked chicken amidst the constant mild paranoia that some angry rudeboys might "shank you". These are minor problems outwayed by the fun one can have drinking all day, minus the guilt, with your friends.I am quite predictable come carnival as i tend to hang around Talbot road, not that that is a bad thing as both Gaz's stage and Rampage are situated there.
Also gonna check out the Major Lazer launch thing as GETME! regulars "The Heatwave" will be playing alongside Diplo, Switch, Toddla T and Mumdance. Its next to 12 Acklam road, where the portobello jazz festival was.
I will be playing on the Sunday at WORK IT, 11-12.

Not sure what to think of NBC's "Catch a Predator", the presenter is just as awful as the kiddy fiddler. Brass eye said it best....

Books
Having previously attempted to express my opinions on literature and subsequently been shouted at in one of the two comments people have left on my page, i am reluctant to try it again..
" thats rubbish he's a completely different writer to chekov or cormac, and women, although brutal in places is actually a very tender book. comparing him to chekov is like comparing the sex pistols to bach. pointless. people always diss bukowski cos he's so easy to read and you read all the books when your eighteen and somehow its not seen as proper literature. But the fact that he's so easy to read is what makes him one of the greats and being so easily accessible, and using drinking, womanising etc as the vehicle to talk about the universe is a trick few have managed with such panache. so there". I would like to know how this person is..........
I recently read " Memories of my melancholy whores" and am now reading One Hundred years of Solitude", both by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I really liked whores, its basically about a kiddy fiddler who falls in love/lust with a 14 year old girl, very well written, poignant and short. I am not so sure about 100 years of solitude as it seems a bot whimsical and at times twee (hopefully these sweeping comments will enrage someone enough to leave a comment). He seems to constantly introduce new characters half of which have the same if not very similar names ( a lot of Jose). I seem to constantly refer to the huge family tree in order to work out who is who, either that or i am not very clever.
